Accessing MIT

Can I use Covid Pass?

What events can I attend?

As a spouse or partner, what am I eligible for?

We understand that it is a difficult time to navigate MIT, but here are some helpful points for you to know:

  1. Covid Pass and Kerberos ID are only available for spouses and partners living in MIT residences. Spouses and partners living off campus are not currently eligible for Covid Pass and Kerberos ID.
  2. You don’t need Covid Pass to attend MIT Spouses & Partners Connect events. All of our events are open to all spouses and partners. Whether the event is online, outdoors or indoors, or on or off campus, we will always explain our attendance requirements ahead of time.
  3. If you have MIT health insurance, you don’t need Covid Pass to visit MIT Medical. You may enter the MIT Medical E23 building to access medical services.
  4. MIT has developed a visitor pass system which allows for temporary access to events on campus. Individuals who do not have an MIT ID and Kerberos account can be given temporary access to an MIT event using a visitor pass called a Tim Ticket, which provides attendees with a QR code they can use to check in to an event.
  5. You are eligible for an MIT ID Card. If you live off campus (not in an MIT residence), please consider getting the card only if you are planning to purchase a membership to the MIT gym or use the libraries. Visit this page to learn how get an ID card https://idcard.mit.edu/get-id-card.
  6. You are eligible to join the MIT gym. For more information about joining the MIT gym, visit http://www.mitrecsports.com/join/memberships/ or email memberservices@mit.edu
  7. If you live in an MIT residence, you are eligible for Kerberos ID. The Kerberos Identity gives access to a variety of systems and facilities on campus and online.

If you have additional questions regarding access to the MIT campus and its services, please email us at spousesandpartners@mit.edu.
