Knitting 101

Learn the basics of knitting such as cast-on, cast-off, knit or purl. We'll also learn how to choose the yarn and needles for a project, and how to read a simple pattern. At the end of the course, you will not just have learned the basics of knitting, but you will have made your own cowl. (http://tincanknits.com/images/SC-oats- 14.jpg) For the course, you will need the following material: (i) The pattern of the Oat cowl designed by Tin Can Knits. You can find it for free at http://tincanknits.com/pattern-SC- oats.html (ii) A set of knitting needles US #8 / 5mm 16 (16, 32) inch circular needle (iii) 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn, adequate for the needles (iv) 1 tapestry needle (v) Knitting markers I recommend to buy all the material at Mind's Eye Yarns(https://www.mindseyeyarns.com). It is a lovely yarn shop in Porter Square and they have prepared for us a package with all the material you will need at a convenient price. Don't forget to tell them that you are joining this course and they will gladly show you the store. The course will have 4 sessions and is limited to 8 participants.
