Lace Knitting

Tuesday, Apr 11, 2017
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Level: Advanced beginner: you need to know how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. With this course you will learn this technique (reading lace knitting patterns, best cast-ons and bind-offs for lace, lace stitches, and blocking techniques) by making a gorgeous lace shawl designed by Kalurah Hudson (http://whiletheyplaydesigns.com/portfolio/over-the-sea-to-skye/). For the course, you will need the following material: (i) The pattern of the Over the sea to sky shawl. You can buy it on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/over-the-sea-to-skye) (ii) Needles: US #6 / 4mm 17 (17, 32) inch circular needle (iii) 550 - 600 yards (503 - 549 m) of fingering/sport weight yarn, preferably linen or cotton (I recommend Zooey Juniper Moon Farm.) (iv) Knitting markers I recommend to buy all the material at Mind???s Eye Yarns (https://www.mindseyeyarns.com). It is a lovely yarn shop in Porter Square and they have prepared for us a package with all the material you will need at a convenient price. Don't forget to tell them that you are joining this course. The course will have four sessions and is limited to 8 participants.
