Newcomers Office Hours
Hosted by the MIT Spouses & Partners Connect staff, our weekly Newcomers Office Hour is a great opportunity to ask questions and get the information you need to start your life at MIT. Check the calendar for the next meeting.
Every fall we collaborate with the MIT Graduate Student Council to provide events that help you meet new people and get the information you need to begin a new life in Boston. Past events include a Learning Fair, Stroller Friendly Campus Tour, Scavenger Hunt, and many other events.
Come enjoy a different activity and meet other spouses every Wednesday. Every week we invite speakers from MIT, the community, or our group to share their expertise; visit interesting places in Boston; or socialize around art and fitness.
- When: Wednesdays from 10-11:30 a.m., from February to May and from September to December (unless otherwise noted on the calendar). The room opens at 10 a.m. The activity begins at 10:15 a.m. and usually lasts about one hour.
- Where: As of March 2020 - our weekly gatherings are held on Zoom. You can find the link on our events calendar, and the password in our weekly email update (subscribe here) and our private Facebook Group.
Interest groups and classes
Our interest groups and classes are created and led by members. Members can come together to share interests and learn something new - from book discussion to cooking to fitness to parent-child playgroups.
Check our calendar for a complete listing of our groups and classes.
Don’t see what you’re looking for? You can create your own interest group. Write to us and we'll help you get started!
Facilitated by Program Manager, Jennifer Recklet Tassi, this private appointment via Zoom or in-person (outdoors) is a time to ask questions, voice concerns, and reimagine your life here in Boston.
