Newcomers Office Hours

Hosted by the MIT Spouses & Partners Connect staff, our twice monthly Newcomers Office Hour is a great opportunity to ask questions and get the information you need to start your life at MIT. Check the calendar for the next meeting.

Orientation

Every fall we collaborate with the MIT Graduate Student Council to provide events that help you meet new people and get the information you need to begin a new life in Boston. Past events include a Learning Fair, Stroller Friendly Campus Tour, Scavenger Hunt, and many other events.

Wednesday meetings

Come enjoy a different activity and meet other spouses every Wednesday. Every week we invite speakers from MIT, the community, or our group to share their expertise; visit interesting places in Boston; or socialize around art and fitness.

  • When: Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., from September to December and from February to May (unless otherwise noted on the calendar). The room opens at 1.45 p.m. The activity begins at 2:15 p.m. and usually lasts about 60-90 minutes.
  • Where: E23-009

Interest groups and classes

Our interest groups and classes are created and led by members. Members can come together to share interests and learn something new - from book discussion to cooking to fitness to parent-child playgroups.

Check our calendar for a complete listing of our groups and classes.

Don’t see what you’re looking for? You can create your own interest group. Write to us and we'll help you get started!
